About us

We employ the people we place

That single decision shapes everything else about how this company works.

Who we are

A staffing company, not a introduction agency

Leisure and Sea Services is based at The Core in Msida and works across the Maltese islands and the central Mediterranean. We supply and manage staff for hotels, serviced apartment portfolios, cruise operators and yacht management companies.

Most agencies introduce a candidate, invoice a fee and step back. The employment relationship, and every obligation attached to it, lands on the client. We work the other way round. The people we place are our employees. We hold their contracts, run their payroll, carry their insurance and keep the records that prove their right to work.

You direct the work and approve the hours. We handle everything behind it.

Why Malta makes this harder than it looks

Malta runs a genuinely seasonal economy on a labour market that is small, tight and heavily regulated. Demand triples between April and October. The domestic workforce cannot absorb that on its own, so a large share of hospitality and marine staffing depends on workers from outside Malta.

That brings a set of rules with real consequences attached. Third country nationals need a Single Permit before they can start. Vacancies must be advertised through Jobsplus and EURES for the full statutory period, and an employer who passes over an EU applicant has to justify that decision in writing. Seafarers need agreements written to maritime convention standards rather than ordinary employment contracts.

Getting any of that wrong is expensive, and it usually surfaces at the worst possible moment.

How we work

Four commitments that decide whether a staffing relationship survives a second season.

We answer honestly about lead time

If a role cannot be filled to your standard in the time available, you hear that at briefing rather than three days before the shift. A realistic no is more useful than an optimistic yes.

We screen for retention, not just skill

Volume hospitality recruitment fails on people leaving, not on people applying. We screen for the shift pattern and the commute as hard as for the experience, because that is what predicts whether somebody is still with you in August.

We keep the evidence

Every check, every document and every decision is recorded and retrievable. That matters for the Jobsplus justification, for an inspection, and for your own peace of mind.

We cover our own absence

When one of our people does not turn up, that is our problem to solve. The team size you contracted is the team size that should arrive.
